Becky (Becks) Parker is a full-time artist living in Montpelier, Vermont.  As a child she became fascinated with losing herself, almost meditatively, in color.  She began to experiment in solitude, releasing all boundaries to connect with her intuition and focus on her vision.  During her teenage years she started to explore different art mediums and dabbled with acrylic on canvas and oil paints.  Although, it wasn’t until her classes with Prof. Daniela Rivera (Wellesley College) that she drew her attention to oil painting.  More than any teacher, Rivera changed Becky's perspective on life and motivated her to continue her pursuit of painting.

“Her classes felt like the transition between a dirt road to a highway.  Every buzzing minute that she taught was so intensely valuable that I am still processing her lessons eight years later.”

- Becks

Becky finds inspiration for her work in capturing the feeling of a fleeting moment.  On a long drive cross country, she became obsessed with photographing massive trucks rushing along the interstate against the wide open sky and far stretching fields at twilight.  The greatest gift from her journey west was discovering that the “in between” moments - the liminal spaces, the unknown times - are the moments that move her to create. Motion has become the driving factor in her expression and viewers often note on the ephemeral quality of her artwork.

Becky Parker (b. 1988) trained at Wellesley College and received her BA in Psychology and Studio Art in 2010.  She regularly participates in workshops with other Vermont artists and her most recent brush-pen paintings are on display at The North Branch Cafe in Montpelier.  When Becky is not in the studio, she spends time walking in the woods with her two dogs Bailey and Olive.
